Dispute Resolution Update: Supreme Court refuses to extend Quincecare duty to Authorised Push Payment claims
The Supreme Court has handed down a long-awaited decision in relation to the “Quincecare duty”. The claimant, an individual who gave clear and unambiguous instructions to pay monies to a fraudster as part of an "authorised push payment" ("APP") scam, did not convince the highest court that her bank owed her a duty not to make the payments requested.
